Rev. Randolph C. West, Jr.
Pastor St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church

Biographical Sketch

   Rev. Randolph C. West, Jr. is a native of Denver, Colorado and a child of God. He was married to Janet Williams in 1967. They are the loving parents of two sons, Todd and Darrell.

   Rev. West received his Bachelor of Theology Degree on May 2nd, 1987, and his Master of Theology Degree on May 13th, 1989 from the United Theological Seminary of Monroe, Louisiana. His future goal is to obtain his Doctorate of Divinity Degree.

   Rev. West joined the St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church in 1982. He has served in several capacities. He was ordained as a Deacon by St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church on November 30th, 1984. He received License to preach the Gospel as an Associate Minister on September 8th, 1985, by St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church and received his Certificate of Ordination as Assistant Pastor on June 27th, 1986. also by St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church

   In December 18, 1991, Rev. West was called to pastor the St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, of Denver, Colorado.

   Under his leadership, he started the St. Stephen Outreach Bus Ministry, the St. Stephen Youth Church & Youth Enrichment Program. With the growth of the church, he saw the need to institute a 7:45 a.m. Worship Service. In order to reach out to the community at large, he began the “Strength for the Journey” Radio Ministry on KLDC 1220AM at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday mornings. The St. Stephen Mentor Program dedicated to helping troubled youth. He established St. Stephen’s first “Ministry Week”, a worship experience geared toward encouraging the body of Christ to find their place in a ministry in order that they may fulfill God’s plan in their lives.

   He is deeply committed to the Lord’s work. He emphasizes the need to minister to the “Whole Man” in today’s world. His service also extends to the local, state, and national levels.

   Locally: Rev. West served as the President of the Baptist Minister’s Conference until January of 2003. He currently sits on the board of the Center for African American Health and New Directions Ministry. Rev. West is the President of the General Missionary Baptist Convention of the State of Colorado.
Nationally: He has held the offices of Treasurer and Vice President of the National Missionary Baptist Fellowship of Churches. He now holds the office of President of the National Missionary Baptist Fellowship of Churches.

   Pastor West stresses that the most important thing in his life is his faith in Jesus Christ. His favorite scripture is Romans 1:16 (KJV).
